Prasiolite is green quartz, sometimes known as green amethyst. Here, raw slices of a prasiolite geode have been strung between raw ruby, pyrite and haematite using coated steel wire for strength, and the necklace is secured by a handmade sterling silver clasp. The rubies and pyrite crystals are the natural shape of the gemstone crystals, just as they formed under the earth. The necklace feels pleasingly heavy without weighing down the neck or shoulders, and warms to body temperature very quickly.

The prasiolite is from Brazil, cut by hand by a UK craftsman and left with a matte textured finish. As it's unpolished, you can bring it back to full colour and contrast with occasional light oiling with mineral oil (wiping away the excess with a soft cloth) if it begins to look dull or slightly “chalky”.
